Understanding the Garda Compensation Scheme
The Garda Compensation Scheme was established to provide financial redress to Garda Members and Garda Reserves (and, in some cases, their dependents) who have been injured as a result of

- A Malicious incident whilst off duty once you were identified as a Member of An Garda Siochana

The New Garda Compensation Scheme
The Garda Compensation Act 2022 changed how the scheme now operates, a Garda or Garda Reserve no longer have to prove the injury was a non-minor injury. The CMO is no longer involved in the process of medially examining a Garda and a claim can be finalised within 12 months.
